Mount a Wi-Fi access point without drilling: a solution for rented flats
Share
A Wi-Fi access point belongs on the wall, not behind the TV and not in a corner on the floor. There the signal reaches more rooms. In a rented flat there is a familiar problem: drill holes are a point of dispute when you move out, and some landlords don't allow them at all. And if you only glue the access point, you have a heavy device with a cable hanging from an adhesive surface.

Why mount it on the wall?
Many wall access points are made for exactly this: they sit on a network socket or near an outlet and deliver Wi-Fi where you need it. The catch is the fixing. The supplied mounting normally calls for screws in the wall. In a rented flat you don't want that.
The solution: a holder on the outlet cover
The cover of your outlet or switch is screwed on anyway. The Mount One access point holder uses exactly those screws. You unscrew the cover, place the Mount One frame underneath, screw the cover back on and clip on the holder. The cable runs hidden, and the holder is ventilated so heat doesn't build up. When you move out you take everything off, and the wall stays unchanged.
